Eldritch Boulevard™

My photo

Welcome to my world

Proceed with extreme caution. This site is a work in progress.

This is the official site of Rachael Eldritch-Bӧersen. Thank you for visiting. Please excuse the paint, piles of woodshavings, bolts and metal crankshafts littering the floor - I am currently going through another site revision. Your patience is thus appreciated.

It's taken me an awfully long time for me to be proud of who I am. I falter occasionally, however I know you will forgive me. I appreciate the support.

I am an avid and passionate equestrian and always will be, excluding hunting with hounds and all blood sports in general and principle. As a practicality and potential vocation, I work as an Audio Visual Technician for the University of Bath, and as an Archaeological Finds Archivist for the Roman Baths Museum. Occasionally, I work as a freelance IT Engineer. These jobs pay some of the bills and can be quite fun. I find new challenges exciting and I enjoy the achievements of repairing something that will make its owner happy again.

I also have a degree in Psychology. I often wish I'd never pursued it.

I have eyes, nose and mouth arranged in the usual places on my cranium and the opinion of that design is not of my concern. I'm around the 1.77m - 5'10" height mark and inclined to the svelte end of the 'average' frame type. I equally bless and curse my feet. They have a habit of slipping into my mouth.

I am a surviving twin. Sadly, Carolien is no longer with us as she was taken from us a few years ago as a result of her lost battle to Multiple Sclerosis. She will always be a major part - if not the most important - of my life for all eternity, which is why I include her in the present tense. Only Margret, my girlfriend, comes before her. Period.

I am adopted. I have no present interest in locating my biological parents. The concept bewilders and frightens me. Family isn't a word - it's a sentence.

My other passions are many and varied, and this list is certain to grow. I am somewhat diverse in my activities. I seldom get bored, although I do experience units of time that need filling. These units are utilised usually for my own personal consumption. I can write prolifically although I am less inclined to do so when I am happy and contented, which I currently am. I am cautious in the sharing of my very darkest, innermost thoughts, although my verse comes close, often too close, to some of them.

I also paint and sketch, as often as I can. Commissions are always welcome. Please, visit the gallery section to view some of my work.

When not around horses, I am a musician, live clarinet, flute, piano, my iBook, PowerBook and G5 PowerMac, Reason 3.0 and ProTools being my instruments of choice, with Cubase on the reserve list. I am keen to learn cello. I have yet to receive negative feedback, however, I am always open to suggestions of the polite variety. Most of my work has never been commercially released and is highly unlikely to be. With good reason. Some of my work you may or may not be familiar with already. Go Figure.

My philosophy would be best described as Existentialist in principle but with ebbs and flows of hope-filled idealism.

When I graduated from high school, I acquired the 'Most Out Of Touch With Reality' award. I was subsequently and indirectly educated further in the concepts of double standards and irony by my accusers. I neither know nor care where any of these individuals are to this day and it would please me for this arrangement to remain just so.

I am exquisitely in love with Margret Heiligenstӓdt. Just so you all know.

Please, don't try to fix me. That's my job.

Please, check back periodically for updates.

I cannot guarantee the frequency of those updates, so again, your patience is thus appreciated.
